DRILLFORLIFE,AFRICA is registered by The Great Commission Foundation and undertakes humanitarian water projects in Africa. The Foundation is a registered Canadian charity. The Great Commission Foundation started working with water projects in 2004, when they supplied GAIN Canada with a drilling rig to be placed in Benin, West Africa. Drill For Life became an official project in the fall of 2006 in order to start it's own drilling project in Kenya. Drill For Life and its partners purchased and began drilling water wells in the Turkana Region of Kenya as a humanitarian project in January 2007. This project is intended to be ongoing. The base for operations is in Kakuma, located near the Sudan border. PARTNERS TheGreatCommissionFoundation(Canada) is responsible for the Drill For Life, Africa program and funding for equipment purchase and well drilling. NehemiahConstructionMinistries(Canada) oversees drilling rig maintenance and well servicing. Government of Kenya Ministry of Water & Irrigation is responsible for the waiver of taxes, duties, permit fees, supplier of geological maps, storage and transportation. Life Ministry, Kenya is a registered NGO facilitating the Drill For Life project.
